Sport Singapore requires all NROC-registered coaches to have a valid Standard First Aid certificate.

The goal of this course is to provide relevant knowledge and skills in rendering first aid treatment during an emergency or injury during the course of coaching.

The course syllabus has been updated as of 1st June 2020. Learners will now attain 2 different first aid certifications upon completion of this course.

According to SRFAC, the class size will be capped at 16 learners per class. Whereas for practical sessions involving CPR and AED topics, the Instructor-to-Manikin-to-Learner ratio is 1:1:4.

Upon completion of the standard first aid course, you should receive 2 certifications – SFA & CPR(HO)+AED – each valid for two years. To renew your certification, you will need to attend a refresher course 3 months before or after expiry of certificate. If your certification has lapsed more than 3 months from expiry, you will need to restart the certification process.

In general, each learner can complete the course in 16 hours. For Standard First Aid Blended Course, the theory content will be delivered via e-learning, therefore, there will be a slight variation in terms of the number of hours it takes to complete.
