- Interested to become BCLS Instructor.
- The Basic Cardiac Life Support + AED (BCLS + AED) course is a mandatory training course for BCLS + AED instructors-trainers. They have to attain the BCLS + AED certificate before they are eligible for the BCLS instructor-trainer.
- Recognizing and managing heart attack.
- Understanding the chain of survival.
- Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on an adult victim.
- Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on an infant victim.
- Use of automated external defibrillator on an adult victim.

- Able to speak, read and understand English effectively as the course is conducted in English.
- Physically fit with no pre-existing medical conditions such as back trouble, knee/spinal/joints injuries, heart/lung conditions etc. Please consult a doctor if you have any pre-existing medical conditions before proceeding with the course.
- Trainees who are pregnant or suspect they are pregnant are highly discouraged from taking courses with CPR. Due to safety reason, we strongly discourage trainees from attending the course. It is advisable register for the course after maternity leave has ended.
- A valid Basic Cardiac Life Support Provider certificate
- Part of the assessment requires trainees to do 2 minutes of continuous chest compressions and ventilations and this can be physically strenuous.
- If you attend the course but opt out of the CPR+AED assessment, you will only be issued with a Certificate of Attendance.

Who is eligible?
Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs) are eligible for SkillsFuture (SSG) Grant. The grant amount is depending on citizenship and age of the trainee.
Trainee has to fulfill the following criteria to successfully receive the SSG Grant. Otherwise, Medlink Healthcare Group (MHG) reserves the right to claw back the grant amount from the trainee if trainee did not meet the following criteria.
- Payment of the balance course fee after SSG Grant shall be made to
MHG before the start of the course - Trainee has to set up SingPass account and has access to the SingPass
app on their smart device with a functioning camera to digitally scan
for attendance. - Trainee has to achieve 100% attendance and pass all the assessments

Course Assessments
Upon successfully completing the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation course, learners will be awarded with a certificate to recognise their competencies.
THEORY ASSESSMENTS
(3 attempts allowed)
This assessment comes with 30 multiple choice questions. The questions are broken down into:
Basic Cardiac Life Support – 20 questions
A minimum of 70% must be correct to pass
CPR (Hands Only) + AED – 10 questions
A minimum of 80% must be correct to pass
Practical Assessment
Learners will undergo scenario-based tests. This is to ensure that they can carry out the necessary first-aid steps across multiple medical emergency scenarios.

Certification
Upon successfully completing the Basic Cardiac Life Support Instructor Training course , learners will be awarded with a certificate to recognise their competencies.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Instructor
This course is accredited by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC). The certification is valid for 2 years. Results will be released on the day of training or after 2 working days after the course ends. A pass (credit card size) of achievement will be issued to all participants after the release of the results.
