  • A Healthcare Professional.
  • Interested to become BCLS + AED Instructor.
  • The Basic Cardiac Life Support + AED  (BCLS + AED) course is a mandatory training course for BCLS + AED instructors-trainers. They have to attain the BCLS + AED certificate before they are eligible for the BCLS instructor-trainer.
  • Recognizing and managing heart attack.
  • Understanding the chain of survival.
  • Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on an adult victim.
  • Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on an infant victim.
  • Use of automated external defibrillator on an adult victim.
  • Recognizing and managing an adult choking victim.
  • Recognizing and managing an infant victim.
  • Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
  • Adult Relief of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction.
  • Child Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

  • Application of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Able to speak, read and understand English effectively as the course is conducted in English.
  • Physically fit with no pre-existing medical conditions such as back trouble, knee/spinal/joints injuries, heart/lung conditions etc. Please consult a doctor if you have any pre-existing medical conditions before proceeding with the course.
  • Trainees who are pregnant or suspect they are pregnant are highly discouraged from taking courses with CPR. Due to safety reason, we strongly discourage trainees from attending the course. It is advisable register for the course after maternity leave has ended.
Important Notes:
  • Part of the assessment requires trainees to do 2 minutes of continuous chest compressions and ventilations and this can be physically strenuous.
  • If you attend the course but opt out of the CPR+AED assessment, you will only be issued with a Certificate of Attendance.

Who is eligible?

Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs) are eligible for SkillsFuture (SSG) Grant. The grant amount is depending on citizenship and age of the trainee.

Trainee has to fulfill the following criteria to successfully receive the SSG Grant. Otherwise, Medlink Healthcare Group (MHG) reserves the right to claw back the grant amount from the trainee if trainee did not meet the following criteria.

  • Payment of the balance course fee after SSG Grant shall be made to
    MHG before the start of the course
  • Trainee has to set up SingPass account and has access to the SingPass
    app on their smart device with a functioning camera to digitally scan
    for attendance.
  • Trainee has to achieve 100% attendance and pass all the assessments

How Does It Work?

  3. Select “Self Sponsored”
  4. Fill up the “Trainee Details”
  5. Enter the ”Verification Code”
  6. Read the Terms & Conditions and checked the box
  7. Click “Submit Registration” and wait for an email from MHG informing you on the SSG Grant outcome and balance payable. You will receive this email between 1 – 2 working days from the date of application.
  8. Singapore Citizens can pay for the balance payable course fee with their SkillsFuture Credits.

Course Assessments

Upon successfully completing the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation course, learners will be awarded with a certificate to recognise their competencies.

THEORY ASSESSMENTS​
(3 attempts allowed)

This assessment comes with 40 multiple choice questions. The questions are broken down into:
Occupational First Aid - 20 questions
CPR (Hands Only) + AED - 20 questions

Practical Assessment
(3 attempts allowed)

For practical assessment, learners will undergo scenario-based tests. This is to ensure that they are able to carry out the necessary first-aid steps across multiple medical emergency scenarios.


In order to pass the practical assessment, 100% score is required.

Upon successfully completing the standard first-aid course, learners will be awarded with these 2 first aid certificates to recognise their competencies.

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) + AED Instructor

This course is accredited by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC). The certification is valid for 2 years. Results will be released on the day of training or after 2 working days after the course ends. A pass (credit card size) of achievement will be issued to all participants after the release of the results.

To enroll in the BCLS Instructor Course, trainees are generally required to hold a

The BCLS Instructor Course typically spans one day of attendance followed by
two attachment attendances. The schedule may vary, so please check our course details

Successful completion of the BCLS Instructor Course typically involves attending
the full course, actively participating in hands-on activities, and passing the second
attachment. If the trainee fails the second attachment, he/she will be given a third
attachment to demonstrate his BCLS instructorial skills.

Attended the Standard First Aid course and my class trainer is Raymond. I agree with others that he gives negative vibes and condescending towards his students. Very low EQ and impatient trainer. He needs to learn that students pay fees to learn things, not to be put down and humiliated. We are all adult, there is no need for him to resort to shouting in class when we don't get things right. Good luck if you get him in your class.
