Course Objectives
This course aims to provide relevant knowledge and skills in responding to different emergencies before the arrival of an emergency medical team. At the end of the course, participants will be able to identify the underlying causes of injuries, administer basic immediate first aid without medical help and learn foreign body airway obstruction management for conscious adults.

What happens if I fail my 2nd attempt of the basic cardiac life support + aed theory assessment?
The re-assessment fee of $40 applies for trainees who fail their 2nd attempt of the theory assessment
What happens if I fail my 3rd attempt of the basic cardiac life support + aed practical assessment?
Learners who fail in the practical assessment will have to retake both the theory and practical assessments.
I am interested in becoming a basic cardiac life support + aed instructor , is this certification compulsory for me?
The Basic Cardiac Life Support + AED (BCLS + AED) course is a mandatory training course for BCLS + AED instructors-trainers. They have to attain the BCLS + AED certificate before they are eligible for instructor-trainer.
What is the class size?
According to SRFAC, the class size will be capped at 16 learners per class. Whereas for practical sessions involving CPR and AED topics, the Instructor-to-Manikin-to-Learner ratio is 1:1:4.
My basic cardiac life support + aed certification expired. Is this the right course for me to renew my certification?
The certificate is valid for 2 years. To renew your certification, you will need to attend a refresher course 3 months before or after expiry of certificate. If your certification has lapsed more than 3 months from expiry, you will need to restart the certification process.
How long does it take to complete the basic cardiac life support + aed certification?
In general, each learner can complete the course in 1 day (8 hours).
